| BryRrose's Full Review: Sealy Backsaver Mattress |
We bought a Sealy Backsaver Mattress and Box Spring Set a few years ago after our children moved out of the house. We went to our local mattress store and purchased this specific mattress and box spring set in queen size for our guest. The mattress is holding up very well and we have not heard any complaints from our guest.
When we went to the mattress store we told the saleman that we didn't want anything fancy, but we did want our guest to be comfortable. The salesman recommended the Sealy Backsaver because it was a comfortable mattress for the value. We bought the set for $ 599.00 for the mattress and box spring, and it came with the bed frame. We had the company deliver the set because the delivery and set up was free. After the deliver men left my husband and I got the bed ready for its first guest, us.
That night we slept in the guest room on the new bed. The bed felt wonderful and we had a great nights sleep. The mattress was comfortable yet firm. Every once in awhile I will wake to find my husband out of our bed and sound asleep on the Sealy Backsaver Mattress.
Our salesman warned us that our mattress may not feel like the one in the showroom because there is usually a "break in period". We did not seem to have a problem. The bed was as comfortable as the showroom model, maybe even more comfortable.
Every guest that we have had over always compliments us on how comfortable the bed is.
What we Like about the Mattress
The mattress cover is firm and has a lot of cushion to it. It seems as if the cover has a thick quilted filling, and it is very comfortable.
The edges of the mattress are supported very well. The edges are very firm and provide a good deal of definition. The mattress is ivory color. I have seen many mattress that are blue and other darker colors that show through white sheets.
Overall we are very pleased with the Sealy Backsaver Mattress and Box spring set. With any mattress set you need a good frame. The frame is the foundation that allows the Box spring and Mattress to work as they are designed. A worn out noisy frame will cause a lot of headache and might make you hate your comfortable mattress. My suggestion is to buy a new frame when you have to buy a mattress and box spring.
Our salesman told us that a Queen sized bed or larger needs proper foundation. It is recommended that you used a frame that has a center support with at least 5 legs or 5 hardwood cross slats. Without the proper support, it could cause structrual damage and void the manufacture's warranty.
Warranty The Sealy Backsaver Mattress and Box spring set has a 10 year limited warranty. I always like the "limited" when it comes to warranties. Well with the Sealy Backsaver Mattress the "limited coverage includes some of the following:
(copied from website) Mattress: *Torn handles, stitches pulled out of the handle where sewn to the mattress or tears in the mattress fabric where the handles are attached. *Coils or wires that are loose or broken. *Coils or wires that protrude or rip through the fabric *Body indentations of 1-½" or greater. *Sagging
Box Spring: *Splits in the wood frame *Squeaks, rattles or noises *Bent, loose or defective beams and/or center support rail *Loose or broken module wire *Compression of modules Unstapling of modules *Sagging
