I have always purchased cheap five dollar pillows. I just replaced them every year but figured they were worth it. I’m not sure what got into my head but I thought if I bought a more expensive pillow it had to be better and last longer. So I went on a search for new pillows. I found the Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow and thought they looked like quality pillows that would last.

I should have purchased one and tried it out but no I purchased five. I sleep with three pillows and my husband uses two.

The Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow is white 20” x 26” standard pillows. The fabric is a 300 thread count with a 100% cotton cover. The fill is 100% polyester Sealy MaxiLoft® Coils-spiral spun fibers. The pillow felt soft but firm.  The pillow is hypoallergenic and is said to be perfect for side sleepers which my husband and I are both are.

I was excited to bring home our new pillows even though I wasn’t thrilled about the price I paid for them. Since I paid so much more for them I just knew they were going to be even better than the five dollar pillows I was use to using.

Boy was I wrong.  The Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow is way too thick for me or my husband’s neck. We like firm pillows but not the thickness of this one. My husband used his pillows for one night and demanded his old pillows back. Luckily I had not thrown them away yet. I was persistent and wanted to give the pillows a chance so I used mine for about two weeks before getting rid of two of them. I do like one of them for between my knees but I had a stiff neck every morning I used these pillows under my head.  I too went back to my five dollar pillows.


So now I had four new pillows that I had no use for.  The kids tried to use them but they didn’t like them either. We did give one to each dog. The Pomeranian doesn’t like his, I think because it is too thick and he can’t get up on it right. Now our collie will use hers to lay her head on, I guess it doesn’t give her a stiff neck. I have the other two in a closet for when the one that I use between my knees wears out.

The Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow is good for certain sexual positions too so the pillows are not a total loss. Since they are firm they give you support if you place them under your rump during sex.

I purchased the Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow for $19.99 in store. I have seen these pillows sold in stores and online. I have seen them priced up to $34.99. Personally I think that is a lot for a pillow. I am really upset that I paid over a hundred dollars for pillows that I do not like.  I have been purchasing five dollar pillows for years and yes I need to replace them every year but I prefer them over the Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow any day.

The Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow is machine wash and dry. I have washed the pillows once since owning them and they have washed up nicely. The Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow does come with a three year limited warranty.

The Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow is a good quality pillow that is well made. I think it is durable and would last. The one I have been using between my knees has been holding up well.  I was hoping it would flatten out some after use so I could use it for my head but this has not happened (which actually I guess is a good thing as you really don’t want your pillows to flatten)

Unfortunately the Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow did not work for us. They are OK for using between my knees and during sex but even the dogs aren’t crazy about them. I would not recommend the Sealy Posturepedic Firm Support Pillow to others unless you like really thick pillows.
