| MikeHussey's Full Review: Secret Guide To Computers 27ed for 2001 Books |
The Secret Guide To Computers 27th edition by Russ Walter has got to be the best book on computers I have ever read. I consider myself to be a computer guru having owned personal computers for over 7 years but consider my computer education to be an on going lifetime process. I picked up a copy of this book a few months ago when I was intrigued by the almost 650 pages of material for a measly $16.50.
Computer books are usually expensive and for this type of book would probably cost $50 or so. I figured why not. I don’t know everything about computers and figured I may even learn something new.
Who Would Benefit From This Book
This is the perfect computer book for computer users of all skill levels. Most computer books are very intimidating for beginners. Even an experienced user like myself finds myself scratching my head when trying to read some computer books. The book contains very easy to understand language and doesn’t assume you to be an idiot nor does it assume you know everything about computers.
Anybody who has an interest in computers would benefit greatly from this book. It’s a good book for people who want to learn a lot about various computer topics but don’t want to spend a lot of money. If you’re even thinking of getting a Dummies book or Idiots book or even something similar save you’re hard earned money and get The Secret Guide To Computers.
What Does The Book Cover
This book is very well organized computer bible. It is divided into 7 sections including; Buyer’s guide, Operating Systems, Word processing, Communication, Tricky applications, Programming, and Endnotes. Throughout each of the 7 sections you will find lots of useful computer information and tutorials.
The book even has tutorials that teach you limited programming skills and much more. It even has an interesting CPU chart that shows computer processor speeds. Just by looking at the chart you can see it’s amazing just how fast computers have become.
Overall Opinion
If you want a highly informative computer book on computers The Secret Guide To Computers is your best choice. It contains lots of valuable computer information throughout it’s almost 650 pages. It’s cheap and is a good buy for the computer guru as well as the computer newbie. You can’t go wrong picking up a copy of The Secret Guide To Computers.
