A friend of mine works for Select Comfort and told me there were waterbed size replacement mattresses (to fit hardside waterbed frames) in the model 5000. I wasn't happy with my waterbed mattress at the time and thought it would be a good way to go since they were offering 0% interest with no payments for a year and $250 off.

Boy what a mistake. I wish I had never done it. I wasted a $1,000 on this. No matter what sleep number I put this bed on I could not sleep well at all. The bed never seemed comfortable at all. On weekends when I'd sleep in some, I'd wake up sore most of the time.
I agree with other posters that the foam in the bed makes it get overly hot sometimes.
After researching different types of waterbeds, I went with a $150 hydraulic water mattress that has chambers to keep the water from shifting around all over the bed. It has out worked much better.
The only plus for my $1,000 I can say is that I put the water mattress inside the select comfort pillowtop cover, so at least I can still use something from it.
I can't get over at how cheap all the select comfort parts look. They must be making a fortune off these beds. Some people must like them though if these stores are staying open I guess.
I wouldn't recommend this bed to anyone. My parents and a couple friends of mine each had one of these and are no longer sleeping on it after 2 years. They went back to their traditional Sealey mattresses.
