EXTREMELY poor customer service and quality control!

Pros: Would float in a flood.
Cons: Didn't hold air, electronics malfunctioned, not level, poor customer service, lack of integrity.
The Bottom Line: Wait several years and see if they can figure out their MAJOR problems.

We bought the Sleep Number 5000 on the 2nd of November after hearing it touted by one of my favorite radio show personalities Garrison Keillor. We went into the store in a local mall and the service there was great, it all ended there.
We got it set up and the first thing to run through my mind was....Air mattress. I was still excited to get it set up as this was our first high dollar bed. We couldn't figure out why we were rolling into the center. It turns out the foundation sagged to the center. I took it apart and re assembled it several times only to find that if I ran a 4' level across it I could pass my whole hand under this level in the center! I called, sat on hold for 30 minutes and finally got someone to send us a resolve to this. It turned out to be a piece of foam to put in the middle. We tried it, and now rolled outward.
The wireless control would get us up to our number and by morning it would read 100, no, wait, 35.... well, now it's 90. It didn't matter WHAT you set it at, it would be drastically different 12 hours later, it felt the same. They sent us a wired control that appeared used. Did I mention the 20-30 minutes. on hold again? It did the SAME THING! Every time you push the side choice button you would get a different number!!!! We called and the C/S agent did not understand the problem with the sagging or the control. I told them that I give up and they need to take it back. This is getting long, so let me just say that after repackaging it, paying to ship it back, continually having to call and check on the status of the return which they admit they received, I still don't have a refund. I paid by check. Oops..... They have me and the bed! I have been told the check is in the mail, the refund is under review, you name it. It is now the middle of February and no check.
I think the idea is great, but, they need to get their quality control together and hire some customer service agents that actually know how the bed works and the parts that are on it!
