Pros: Comfort-Comfort! If you and your significant other need different mattress capacities, this is it.
Cons: There should be a weight limit on these.
The Bottom Line: It is perfect for people who share a bed.
I've made everyone who comes over try it.

| akenne1's Full Review: Select Comfort Mattress Sleep Number 5000 |
Alright, I read some of these reviews and now I had to say my peace. I am a LONG term buyer.
I purchased my comfort select 5000 almost 4 years ago. I will admit that the cost absolutely sucks. However, my husband and I sleep just fine and are considering going from a queen to a king this year. (and putting the queen in our 'guest' room).
My number one reason for purchasing this bed, is that my fiance' at the time could not sleep on my water bed... Not without sloshing me out of it, or him having to wake up covered in sweat and STUCK! We looked around high and low. We visited tempurpedic. I got too warm when trying them out.
Fortunately, I petsit on the side, and I get to sleep in many different beds. I found that most of them were just too hard for me. I am a side sleeper and my shoulders always hurt.
Well, I should say when we bought the bed, I was HUGELY disappointed at the cheap looking pieces (the frame made of plastic and these pieces of foam)! I couldn't believe we spent about $2800 then. My first night I tried a 85 and was so sore, I could barely move. Well, i probably thought that for the first year (when i still slept alone). Then three years ago, we got married. My husband likes the bed firm. I like it soft. Still he was an 85 and I was a 65. We don't argue about the bed!
That was three years ago. Now, we are heavier and both of us have lowered our numbers. He is a 65, and I am a 50. I don't have any more sore shoulders (except when I am petsitting and sleep on those rocks people call mattresses.)
I will admit. It looks way too pricey for the boxes of plastic, foam, and air mattresses. However, I will stand firm (no pun intended) and say that it was definitely worth it in the end. We sleep just fine.
Neither of us has any medical problems, except a few added pounds, so i don't know how that will fair later. I just want to tell you to give it a chance and try those numbers out. If your heavy, try a little less air.
