Pros: Price, adjustability, ease of assembly, comfortable! Less lower back pain in AM.
Cons: Takes getting used to, one control for two people, weird smell in the beginning.
The Bottom Line: Definitely worth trying! We have had no problems or issues with the bed or the company.

| pstone's Full Review: Select Comfort Mattress Sleep Number 5000 |
After many years with soft side waterbeds, my husband and I decided we were ready for a "real" bed. Through our travels we found several traditional mattresses we liked at hotels, namely Hilton, and also the Borgata in Atlantic City, both of which are available for purchase. Having been dissatified with traditional mattresses in the past, however, we were hesitant to jump into what could be an expensive mistake. The King version of each were between $1500 and $1700. And there were things about our dual chambered water bed we didn't want to give up, such as ability to adjust each side to our own preferences, which is what made us consider a Select Comfort Sleep Number mattress. The 30 day return policy also sounded good to us, just in case, so we went to a Select Comfort store at our local mall, laid on the mattresses and got our "sleep numbers", which we were both skeptical about when the salesperson told us our numbers were the same! We like different levels of firmness. But, we did think the mattresses were comfortable and decided to give it a shot. At the time, Select Comfort had a promotion for what they call their "Special Edition" bed, which is somewhere between the 4000 and 5000 models in features. The price was right, so we ordered one in King. It came in about 10 days in two huge boxes. As we'd been filling and draining waterbeds for decades, we weren't intimidated by the idea of putting an air bed together, and you shouldn't be either. It was a breeze (no pun). I'll admit I was very nervous about the bed after reading all the horrible reviews! - after we placed our order of course - but am happy to report we are both enjoying our bed. Bottom line, people like to complain. I honestly don't see any problem with the bed or the company, so if it feels good to you in the store, go for it!
