Pros: Very good customer service
Cons: Gives you severe back and neck pain
The Bottom Line: Stay with the traditional spring mattress. learn from my mistake. Do not pay $3000 for an inflatable airbed with a compressor!

| kr91513's Full Review: Select Comfort Mattress Sleep Number 5000 |
I have owned the sleep number bed for two weeks. I am now sleeping in my guest room until my new spring mattress bed arrives. I paid $160 to have my Sleep Number delivered and installed. The first couple of nights were ok trying to find the "right sleep number" On the sixth night I woke up with severe neck and back pain. The pain was so bad I spent the day on the couch. I called sleep number and they said "that will happen until you find the right sleep number, if you get upper back pain you need to increase the number and if you get lower back pain you need decrease the number" I just spent $3000 to get back pain none of which I had prior to this bed. What they dont tell you is if even when you do find the perfect sleep number the bed will constantly change taking you away from your perfect sleep number hence giving you severe back pain. For example leaking of the bed, your spouse getting up in the middle of the night or even weather changes effect the number (remember this is just one big air mattress.)
The customer service rep told me to compensate for the changes she always sets her bed 5 points below her "perfect sleep number" so that when her husband gets in bed she will be taken to her perfect sleep number. Its all these changes thru out the night that created my neck and back pain.
Be very careful before buying one. I would not recommend it to anybody.
