Todd's Full Review: Sennheiser HD 212Pro Professional Headphones
The Sennheiser 212 is the latest effort from one of the worlds top producers of headphones. In the past their lower cost headphones did not stand up to the acclaim that their higher end headphones rightly received. All that is changing.
Being a closed headphone, the 212 offers very good isolation from external noise. They also do not leak any sound into the local environment. They are supraural (they sit on the ear) and have vinyl earcovers. Overall they are pretty comfortable though they may get warm to wear in hot, humid places. Their silver and black colors and design should be attractive for the younger, mobile crowd.
They have a 32 ohm impedance and are easily driven from portable devices. Overall sound quality is good. They are dark (too much bass) with good detail and are easily listened to for long sessions.
Though not a reference headphone, the 212 offers a great deal of quality for the money. At under $50 it is as good as you're going to find in the current headphone world.
