This restaurant is so small that one person in our group thought that we were only in the lobby when in fact we were in the main (and only) room in the restaurant. However, the decor makes up for it with exquisite details, light and airy color scheme, and muted sounds. Don't fear that you will hear the cash register.
While it is slightly on the romantic side, it did work well for a business dinner recently as well.
Their menu is large for a restaurant of this size, and everything seems freshly prepared. Here's a chef who doesn't mind experimenting. Most of the time, you will love the experiments, for instance in a recent hot foie gras dish with exactly the right sour/sweet/fatty combination. Occasionally, you will wonder why the dish made it onto the menu. For instance, on my last visit I had foie gras inside fried beignette. It was definitely more unusual than well-tasting. It was also one of the smallest appetizers I had had in my life.
There is a menu with matching wines (I think around $65 for the menu, $100 with wines) - I have never tried the matching wines, but it is tempting.
The wine list is not extensive, but seems very well selected.
Service is pleasant and attentive. The waitresses seem truly interested in your enjoyment, and you will feel pampered.
Do not invite conservative eaters to this place.
