My Granddaughter Tayler loves Elmo, so the Elmo's Talking Driver was an excellent gift for her to receive this Christmas. The first time I saw it, my Daughter had driven to pick me up from work following a visit with her In- Laws. My Granddaughter was screaming for Elmo. Once I retrieved her new toy I understood her excitement. The light up green for left and red for right, turn signals were brilliant. As you use the blinker located on the steering wheel the turn signals flash and ding.
The center of the turning steering wheel has a raised picture of Elmo that beeps as he says "Beep Beep Coming through" and the lights also flash with this feature. When you turn the key you hear a sound identical to a real car starting up, and the shifter sounds like a car engine revving up. It sounds very realistic and thrills the child every time. The dashboard has a long yellow bar with the Sesame Street logo and plays a melody when pushed. Located beneath this are 3 square buttons that feature other familiar characters. When pushed Big Bird says "Buckle up," Cookie Monster says "Me drive car," and Ernie says "Driving is fun."
The Elmo's Talking Driver is small and lightweight yet made of durable plastic which makes it easy to take in the car or enjoy at home. It provides lots of pretend driving fun for the little ones. The volume is a little loud so you may prefer to consider this when taking it in the car as there is no volume control feature either. As this was a gift I don't know where it was purchased but I am sure it can be found at most toy stores, especially those where Sesame Street toys are sold. It requires 2 AA batteries and sells for 19.99 according to the manufactures web page. This is a must have toy for any Elmo fan!
