My daughter received the Elmo Talking Driver for Christmas last year. Although it is a noisy toy, it is a lot of fun.
This is a well made toy that has lots of activities for busy little hands. It is a noise toy, you know the kind of toys people without children typically buy for your children, LOL. This toy will keep your baby busy for awhile.
The Elmo Talking Driver is a toy that can sit on the floor. When your baby is big enough to sit up he/she can sit and play with the toy. The base of the toy is white on top blue on the bottom. There are many activities to do on this toy.
--Steering wheel: The yellow steering wheel turns very easily and is probably the quietest thing about this toy. That is until you push the blue Elmo Horn on the steering wheel. Press the horn and Elmo says "beep beep beep, coming through".
--Ignition The blue ignition key turns easily as well. When you turn the ignition it sounds as if the car is starting.
--Turn signals There is a turn signal switch on the talking driver as well. No rude drivers forgetting to alert cars behind them that they are turning here. Move the green turn signal lever and it makes a sound, I can't describe the sound, kind of a ding ding ding sound, isn't that helpful, LOL? Also when you move the lever there are two arrow lights that light up telling you which way you are turning. One is red and the other is green.
--Radio What kind of car would this be without a radio? My daughter loves music, I am sure when she has a car of her own she will have the best sound system around. For now she has to settle for this one. The radio button is a yellow rectangle with 2 blue music notes on it and the Sesame Street logo. Press the button and a short snappy little tune plays.
--Dash board buttons There are 3 buttons on the dashboard.
*Red Big Bird: Big Bird says "Buckle Up" to remind kids of this important safety must!
*Yellow Cookie Monster: Cookie Monster says "Me drive car".
*Blue Ernie: Says "Driving is fun"
Gear Shift There is a red gear shift. When you pull down on this the car goes "vroom, vroom".
There are a lot of things that make this a good toy for babies/toddlers. The main thing is that this is a great cause and effect toy. Cause and effect toys are great for babies. Each time your child touches something on the Talking Driver toy something happens. They learn that by doing a certain thing they can make something happen.
The toy is bright and colorful. You can help your baby/toddler learn colors when playing with this toy. As I described the different features of the toy I stated what color each thing was to show all the different colors on this toy.
The parts are easy to work. The buttons are easy to push. The lever is easy to push down or push up. The Gear shift is easy to move. Everything about this toy will be easy for your child.
I think that this is a great toy for babies. It makes a great 1st birthday present. There are a lot of things to occupy baby with. It is easy to use and fun. I highly recommend it for the babies and toddlers in your life :).
