Pros: ASTONISHINGLY good at eradicating grubs !
Cons: Vermiculite vehicle contributes to dust. Dead grubs " littered " the yard !
I HAD a major problem with grubs--they somehow got into the garage, and have ( until now ) ruined my lawn. I bought some Sevin at the local home/garden store--applied via broadcast spreader ( keeps dust at ankle level ), to my yard. Watered lawn to allow material to trickle down. The next morning I was TOTALLY ASTONISHED at how many dead and writing white grubs ( yuck ) were on the driveway, sidewalk, and yard.
I won't have to aerate or fertilize the lawn, since the grubs dug large holes on their way to the surface ( attempting to escape ? ), and then died once up.
Since it's spring, there are a lot of birds about. I saw some eating the grubs and got worried that I might have Inadvertently poisoned them ! I did an Internet search ( how I got here ), and found that poultry farmers are targeted Sevin customers. And that Sevin is anticipated as being not or only mildly toxic to birds--I was really relieved.
The number of grubs that WERE in my yard was amazing. The fact that they all came to the surface and died was the clearest possible proof that the stuff works. It makes me wonder if 100% came up, if not--wow !!!
