Stroll into any adult book store and you will see a plethora of lubricants and wetting products. Some are designed for self pleasure, some for anal entry and others for straight heterosexual sex. Sex Grease is a multi use type of lube; it can be used alone, with a partner or with toys. Since this is a non-toxic and biodegradable product it won't harm latex, PVC or vinyl items such as clothing, vibrators or condoms. So far we have only come across this in the extremely large eight ounce bottle, not exactly something that you can tote around with you all that discretely.
One of the biggest complaints that people have when it comes to lube is that it dries out or gets gummy. Sex Grease stays wet for about fifteen minutes and can be reapplied as often as needed. So far neither of us have had any reactions to it and its caused no irritation, redness or 'day after' bumps. The herbs and extracts in the formulation are part of what make this one of the better lubricants to invest in. Carrot extract, chamomile, myrrh, marigold and Vitamin B are some of the ingredients that allow this to sooth skin, release a pleasant scent and stay wet while on the skin.
That's all fine and good but how does it really work in heated situations? We tried this out and found that it does lubricate well and keeps areas friction free for ten to fifteen minutes; in extremely hot or cold weather you may need to reply it more often and to get the best use from it, make sure that the bottle isn’t ice cold. Imagine dripping hot lava on your body only instead of it being hot, its ice cold. That's the sensation you can get from it if it is stored in a cold area. Nothing brings a romantic interlude to a close quicker than someone goofing around and squirting Sex Grease on you and its ice cold.
How did we find Sex Grease? In the most unlikely of places. One of Tommy's friends had a bottle of it in the cab of his truck. We snickered when he was giving us a tour of his rig and assumed that it was, well, for obvious reasons. It turns out that Sex Grease is a great lubricant for machinery; he said it was the only thing that he would use when he was delivering for a soda company and had to use a manual conveyer to unload plastic stacks of flats. Because he went into such detail about it we had no reason to not believe that is what he used it for but we both still giggle when we run into him. So, simply put, Sex Grease has more than a few uses in and outside the bedroom.
Tommy found a bottle of this at an adult bookstore in Ohio for $11.00; since he was at a loss as to what the average selling price was on it he bought one. That seems to be the average price but there are some places that do sell it for less. The eight ounce bottle seems to be the only size available for consumers however I asked a few friends in The Valley and they said that Sex Grease does make them in smaller sizes for the adult film industry. Is it worth it? I won't say that it is the best lube that I have ever used but it is better than most. This isn’t all that great tasting but it isn't meant to be an edible lubricant; non-toxic doesn't mean that it's going to taste great.
The Bottom Line
This certainly wasn't a waste of money and it can be really great if you tend to use a lot of lube but the eight ounce size is what kills me. You can't find a lot of places to hide the bottle and the name of it, "SEX GREASE" is in large letters on the bottle. The bottle features a press top flip up can that can also be unscrewed if you want to transfer it into a smaller bottle. This is way to thick a product to try to put into a squirt bottle or sprayer bottle so don't waste your time trying. Sex Grease gets an eight out of ten from me; the only thing they could do to improve it would be to tone down the scent a little and make it available to consumers in a smaller sized bottle.
