Clean, Reasonably Priced, Free Breakfast
Written: Jan 06 '08
Pros:Good location, clean rooms, decent staff, 2 Priority Club Floors
Cons:Getting kinda old.
I've stayed at the Civic Center Holiday Inn several dozen times on business travel.
I'm frugal, book ahead, and have never paid more than $150/night. For that you get a great downtown location, close to the Civic Center and state of California buildings.
The rooms are San Fran sized (that means smallish). I've never had a trashed room. I've never had a dirty room. I've only had to fight with the front desk once to get moved, and that was to get onto the Priority Club floor (there are 2). Parking is $25/day, but this IS San Fran.
I vote with my wallet and I go to the hotel whenever I'm in town. If you want nice in San Fran then you should prepare to pay $500 and stay someplace else. If you want a decent clean room and good location, book ahead and stay here.
