This review of the Tupperware Shape-O-Ball is done as part of the Epinion’s Helping Hands write-off. I would like to thank bgoodday for inviting me to join this write-off, as well as his son and Viper1963 who inspired it.
All of the participants have so generously decided to contribute all money earned from this write-off to help someone in need. They have written in a variety of areas but the common denominator is that we will make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate then ourselves. You will find a list of my fellow contributors at the end of this review.
The Tupperware Shape-O-Ball is a wonderful toy for young children. Half of the 6 1/2 inch ball is red, and the other half is blue. They are held together by two handles with an elastic cord in between. The Tupperware Shape-O-Ball has 10 holes of varying shapes, and comes with 10 matching yellow pieces which fit into the holes. The pieces are approximately 2 inches across and fit nicely into the ball for convenient storage.
Once the pieces are inside, the Tupperware Shape-O-Ball can be opened by grasping the handles and pulling them apart to release the shapes. Very young children will probably not be able to release the pieces making it less likely that they will become misplaced. If the pieces do get lost though, simply call your local Tupperware Consultant to order replacement parts.
The Tupperware Shape-O-Ball costs more than many other shape sorting toys, but I feel that it is well worth the difference because of the sturdy construction and Tupperware quality. As with all Tupperware products, the Tupperware Shape-O-Ball carries a lifetime guarantee. If the Tupperware Shape-O-Ball should become broken with normal usage, simply contact your local Tupperware Consultant and return the damaged product for a replacement.
The Tupperware Shape-O-Ball is recommended for children of 6 months and up, and I know that my childern have gotten many hours of enjoyment from theirs. These brightly colored Tupperware Shape-O-Ball can hold the attention of an infant with their colors and the rattling noise it makes as it is rolled across the floor with the pieces inside. As the child gets older they will enjoy learning about the different shapes and how to fit them into the various holes. This is great for improving their fine motor skills.
Additionally, the shapes are numbered and can help your child learn counting, as well as some of the basic color and number recognition. For preschoolers, we made a game out of it. I would call out a number and the first child to find the piece with that number got to put the piece into the Tupperware Shape-O-Ball. There were no winners or losers to this game, just a fun time trying to find the right pieces and put them into the holes. When all of the pieces were replaced into the Tupperware Shape-O-Ball the game was over and everyone got a treat.
The Tupperware Shape-O-Ball was also a wonderful donation to a local headstart program where I have spent 9 years as a volunteer. The children there loved to play with the Tupperware Shape-O-Ball and spent many hours enjoying this wonderful toy. You can find a Tupperware Consultant listed under Tupperware in most phone books.
If you would like to help someone in need this year but were not able to participate in this write-off, you can do so by reading as many of these reviews as possible. Please take a minute out of your day to help another.
I plan to match all proceeds from this review to purchase Christmas gifts for a needy family in my area. In addition, I am hosting a Tupperware Party and will be encouraging my guests to purchase gifts for donating. All gifts earned from the party will also be donated to help the needy to have a better Christmas. Anyone interested in placing an order to donate may contact me via email for a catalog and ordering instructions
