arcticvette's Full Review: Euro-Pro Steam Pocket Mop Stick Vacuum
From infomercial to Cleaning closet. I looked online to read reviews and prices. I stumbled on the Sam's and BB&B seeing that both had it in stock in my area. Best place to get it is either Sam's Club or Bed Bath and Beyond with 20% off coupon. Either way the unit will cost $99. BB&B was closer and we happened to have a coupon and an ad. We walked in the door and looked at the shelves to see the unit in person. All that was on the shelf was the old model. Slightly agitated, I looked around the department to find the new pocket mop near an endcap. On the other side of the pole there was the old model to direct compare. We took the new model off of the stand to test the maneuverability and features. As we were checking it out another customer was looking for the same thing and having the same troubles to find it. We directed them to the display. As we were all looking at the mop, another couple came by, scooped one up, and gave us a good review of the one they have at home. Quickly everyone in the area grabbed one and checked out. We got home and unboxed our new toy.
Here is a quick overview of the product. The bow contains a rectangular head, a triangular head, 2 cleaning pockets for each, and a carpet glider. All the glider is, is a plastic frame to set the rectangular mophead in. It works much as a furniture glider does. The mop will slide over the carpeted surface. The purpose of using on carpet is to sanitize it. If there are stains, those will have to be removed by other means. The mop has a larger water capacity and is easy to fill. The instructions say that you can use tap water, but as we learned with our iron, we get calcium deposits. We just use bottled water to be safe. We gave a quick vacuum to the tile floors and plugged in the mop. It started to hiss as a sign of readiness in less than 30 seconds. The handle is length adjustable and very easy to hold with its circular handle. This handle serves a purpose, as the mop is able to be flipped over to utilize both sides of the pad. As you push the mop the handle moves in a bit to start the steam release. This is the only sort of switch on the mop. If you are not going to use the mop you should unplug it. Very quickly we could see the steam attacking the dirt and film on the floor. Flipping the mop over, you could see the effectiveness of this cleaning tool. Not only does it appear to clean, but it sanitizes the surface with the steam. Be careful to not to burn yourself, you are working with hot steam. Kind of common sense. It is nice to be able to clean thoroughly without chemicals. The triangular mop works great in tight spaces and mop is very maneuverable with it's pivoting head. All in all I highly recommend this product. The makers of this mop make a handheld version to clean other surfaces as well. I am sure I will be picking one up and will be sure to give it a review.
