| sped372's Full Review: Sharp CD-XP2200 CD Shelf System |
Firstoff, let me mention that I hate the radio. I enjoy listening to music, not commercials or dj's. That's not to say this system's tuner is poor, but I thought it pertinent to explain my motive for purchasing it. The main point that drew me to this stereo (aside from price) was the RCA-inputs located on the unit. Instead of shuffling CDs, I wanted to enjoy the music collection stored on my laptop; but through a decent set of speakers. I couldn't afford a full-blown home theater system, so I began looking at shelf systems with RCA-inputs. Whoever designed this thing did their homework. It creates deep realistic bass, as well as great mids and highs - quality that I haven't heard from many more expensive devices. I have had no reliability issues whatsoever. I purchased this system over a year ago, and it has been faithfully pounding out my Winamp playlist 14 hours a day, five days a week since then. My day as a college student would be incomplete without it. Because of the RCA-inputs, I also use it when watching DVD's - sure beats the TV's built in speakers. I would recommend this stereo to anyone looking for something inexpensive that still sounds excellent. It's no home theater, but if you close your eyes it sure sounds like one.
