The Sharp R-820B microwave and convection oven is a wonderful addition in my home. With electronic buttons, the Sharp does the following jobs-- broils, bakes, microwaves, time-cooks, makes popcorn, heats a dinner plate, heats a beverage, and it has memory plus and minute plus buttons. It also defrosts with the touch of a button, it cooks and simmers, has a heat sensor and slow cooks. The timer and clock make it easy. What more could you ask? I loved my sister-in-law's convection and microwave, and I bought one because of her experience with it. I bake bread in the convection oven by choosing low mix which is 350 degrees in a regular oven, but the convection oven cooks faster than a conventional oven--approximately 25 percent faster. I'm used to it now and I simply deduct 25 percent off the time. Another time-saving feature is the turn table, which works automatically. This is a great feature. Other wise I would have to turn the dish every now and then. The Sharp came with a cookbook, which has microwave and convection oven recipes. My favorite recipe is for peanut butter cookies baked with convection. They turn out perfectly every time. I recently bought an over-the-range GE microwave, and I use both ovens because I could not part with my Sharp (my sister-in-law couldn't part with hers either). I have it on a baking rack because it would not fit in the kitchen very well. The baking rack stands alone and suits me just fine. UPDATE--now I have a microwave cabinet in my kitchen, which holds the Sharp microwave on its own shelf. I still love it and use it just about every day. One thing I've learned is not to have candles on a shelf above the microwave. The heat from the convection melts them. Not thinking about the heat, I had a big candle in a holder and I smelled wax. The candle was melting, but I saved it. Now the candles are on the top rack, which is safe. The microwave convection oven is smaller than a conventional oven and this limits the amount you can bake; however, the appliance comes with two round metal shelves--one is higher than the other (bakes over tall and short bake ware) and I can double the amount that I'm baking. I would recommend this oven to anyone who loves to cook and bake. I bought it out-of-box from a store that was closing, and I got a great price.
