| JMNS's Full Review: Sharp Twin Energy EC-12TWT4 Bagged Upright Vacuum |
For the first 4 years or my marriage, I owned a Hoover vacuum. It was horrid. It was very noisy and didn't pick up dirt as well as I would have liked it to. It also had a bad habit of burning through belts quickly. When it finally died, I decided to purchase a much better vacuum.
Instead of heading off to the local department store, I went to a sewing and vacuum store to make my purchase. I was certain that they would know more about what vacuum cleaner would better serve my needs.
I was shown several different brands and models of vacuums before my eyes were finally laid to rest on this particular Sharp EC-12TWT4 vacuum. So after giving it a whirl around on the showroom carpet and admiring it's features, I purchased it and have been pleased with it for the most part.
This Sharp vacuum is teal green in color and very light weight. The noise is considerably less than what my Hoover was, and that alone was a big improvement. The front panel pulls off completely for easy access to change the vacuum bag. I have never had problems finding vacuum bags for this vacuum. I have seen them at both department stores and of course at the sewing and vacuum place where I purchased this product. I have been very pleased with how well it picks up dirt etc. I use my vacuum cleaner every day. The tools and attachments are easy to use. No tube to hook up, just pull the hose out of the side of the vacuum and it is ready to go immediately. The on board attachments consist of a crevice tool, an upholstery brush tool and two long extension tubes. The extension tubes are required while using the attachments as the crevice and upholstery tools can't hook directly onto the vacuum hose.
My only complaint with this vacuum is that the hose and tubes are too short, so if you want to clean cobwebs off of a low ceiling it is next to impossible. The suction is quite strong while using the attachments, so occasionally, the vacuum cleaner will tip over due to its light weight.
Over all, I have been pleased with it's performance in picking up the debris on my carpets. The Sharp vacuum cleaner self adjusts to the carpet level which is nice. The hardware underneath the vacuum is easy to pull apart if you need to change a belt or clean the beater brush. There is also a handle that makes it easy to take up and down stairs as well. It has not given me any problems, other than those mentioned above in the 3 years that I have owned it.
