| storm1628's Full Review: Sharp VLZ7U Mini DV Camcorder |
This is dating a few years back when I was on the market for a digital camcorder. Friends and relatives were much interested in SONY & PANASONIC brands. SONY makes a great digital camcorder with a Zeiss lens, but costs a small fortune. The PANASONIC units were a bit on the large side. I decided to look into SHARP as I had a SHARP television since 1997 and it is still functioning perfectly. The VLZ7U unit was the top model in the SHARP line at that time. Performed some research and purchased one online.
Unit is manufactured in Japan. Size was compact enough and extremely comfortable for one hand operation. SD card slot/capability for still camera use. Decent filter on the microphone. Small and compact rechargeable battery; slightly larger than a matchbox. Good zoom lens. LCD screen can be turned 180 degrees such that the object can view themselves. Excellent picture stabilizing feature as my hands can be shaky at times. Camcorder functions extremely well in low light conditions. Installed a lens filter as a security feature to prevent scratches on the lens
