Want an easy way to burn some calories during your break or lunch? Place the Portable Mini Cycle under you desk and pedal away while you read, eat, watch tv, or even while you work! You know...if you were really crazy you could just keep it under your desk all day and just pedal lightly while you work.
I first heard about this little "exercise bike" from a friend that is a competitive triathlete. He's one of those crazy ones that keeps it under his desk all day. He says that he pedals for 2-4 hours during the day for endurance. If that's actually true I'll never know. He is very well built and in good shape so I suspect he's being honest.
The neat thing is, the Portable Mini Cycle can also be used to tone your arms. Just place it on your desk or any table and "pedal" using your arms. This is a good way to get an upper body workout. You might look silly sitting at your desk pedaling away, but hey, you have goals to accomplish!
What Is The Mini Cycle?
The Mini Cycle is a compact, portable, partial exercise bike. It lacks a seat and handle bars. This reduces its size and weight. It is so small and light that you really can take or store it anywhere.
There is a manual dial you turn to adjust the difficulty of the workout. And the handy electronic display keeps track of the time, your speed, distance, and calories burned. The computer is run off of 2 AA size batteries. The computer is seems to be built a little on the cheap side. So don't confuse it with your Timex, it probably won't take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. But the batteries do seem to last quite a while.
The Final Say:
After using it a few times, ranging between 10 minutes and 1 hour, I would say this is actually a surprisingly good piece of equipment. I must say I did not expect much when I first saw it.
I believe that the Portable Mini Cycle is best for traveling business people or anyone that needs a workout but doesn't have time before, after or during work to go to a gym. It wouldn't be difficult to take this machine on vacations, in case your hotel doesn't have a gym. In any case, I recommend this product to those who need an easy way to burn some calories.
The Portable Mini Cycle earns an honest B.
