Pros: It has a tiny flashlight. It looks futuristic.
Cons: The price is too high and the quality is not reliable. Mass produced in China.
The Bottom Line: I have not owned a Sharper Image Turbo Groomer personal hair trimmer which worked for more than 3 months. My friends and relatives have similarly been disappointed.

| brotherthor's Full Review: Sharper Image SI546 Nasal/Ear Trimmer |
The Sharper Image turbo groomer product or some variation of it has been on the market for at least 2 years. I have shipped 2 out of four of the turbo grooming products back to Sharper Image because they did not work after less than one week. The motors quickly wore out. They have a tendency of pulling on nasal hairs (ouch); the micro blades stop cutting if a nasal hair gets stuck in the blades (which occurs frequently). You must stop your personal grooming procedure and use tweezers to remove the nasal hair from the cutting area of the turbo groomer. The on/off switch has a tendency to quit working within a month or less, on average.
I have no reason to have confidence in this newer, more expensive version, despite the price being higher. Not when Schick and Wahl can both make superior products which do the same thing for $8 - $12 dollars. I am still using the Wahl and Schick products. The remaining Sharper Image turbo Groomer I possess has two bulbs, or as the company likes to call them, "headlights". The product also came (and still does come) in a one headlight version. * I guess this would be the mono - headlight or motor cycle version while the two headlight version would be the sports car version?*
This headlight idea is really silly because if you are trying to do any personal grooming, you should be in a place with adequate lighting. Also, a person would have to have truly gigantic nostrils in order to use a product with TWO small headlights to see inside of one's own nasal cavity! The headlight(s) on the Sharper Image product are just a gimmick. One Sharper Image (a $40 version) of this product offers a 3 year warranty for $12. The new and improved turbo groomer model ($50 or so) offers a 3 year warranty for $20. Sharper Image at one time sold "reconditioned" (previously used) personal hair turbo groomers at a discounted price. Many of them ceased to function after one to two weeks. I know because I bought them as gifts for various relatives. Several of these defective products were simply thrown away.
I would really like to know the mark up on this product from wholesale to retail. The warranties on the Sharper Image products equal or surpass the retail price of both the Schick and Wahl models. Why pay more for the the Sharper Image product with a poorer track record of reliability and nothing but mini headlights to show for the inflated retail price? The products are designed by Sharper Image but that does not make them better than what is already available on the market.
Another note of caution - the Sharper Image sometimes has "discounts" on these products. Don't fall for it and don't get into a bidding war on the Sharper Image site with various would be buyers for specific products. The one who wins the bid is ultimately the loser in product performance and quality.
