We can never have enough Sharpie Fine Tip Markers in my house, we all fight over them. I try to counteract that buy simply buying several packages like this 8-pack of Permanent Sharpie Markers. We simply LOVE the Sharpie brand and whenver we try another brand, we regret it.

The 8-Pack comes in these colors; black, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, purple, and brown. We use them all, except yellow and orange seem to not be popular in my house (they don't show up on paper well unless you are using dark construction paper or something like that). The favorite of course is the black one, so many are needed in my home. Red is great for making a point in whatever you're writing. The cost is usually $6-$8 a package at the store.

The downside to Sharpie Markers is that they are permanent. If they get on your carpet, furniture or clothes, you are pretty much out of luck. My son loves to use them so he must have something underneath whatever he is writing on, otherwise it bleeds through the paper and onto the furniture. Also, you must put the cap back on so that they do not dry out. 

I do notice that Sharpies will last and last. They don't dry out for several months' worth of use. Sharpie pens are also non-toxic and 7" long. They fit in the hand well and the lid snaps on and off nicely (I hate it when marker's lids come loose and then don't fit- that doesn't happen here). It's easy to match up the lid to the pen, the pen has the color of the pen not only on the tip, but the top 2" of the pen, so you won't accidentally get it wrong.

Some uses for Sharpies:

- Work

- To-Do lists

- Chore Charts

- Garage sale signs

- Homework projects

- Posters

- Use black to cover up scratches in black furniture or on black tennis shoes, etc.

- Drawing

- To make something stand out

- Mailing boxes. It comes in handy to write "Fragile" on the side of a box 

- Craft Fair signs, or other signs from small to large. These are mostly used for smaller writing, not big poster writing to be seen from far away (you'll need poster markers for that or fat Sharpies).

What not to use Sharpie Markers for:

-Vandalizing a car. Yes, my son did this when he was smaller, he got ahold of a black sharpie and wrote all over the side of my car. I was not thrilled, but a magic eraser wiped it right off.   

-Drawing on the face of your drunk friend. They could get very very mad at you and especially if they have to work the next day or have a date. In other words, it's very difficult to wash off skin!

-Draw on mommy's walls or appliances. Again, the Magic Eraser or paint does wonders for these things.   

Overall, Sharpie Markers are beyond awesome, we've been using them for years for so many of our crafts, projects and even daily use.
