While browsing the grocery section of my local supermarket I would always look at the Sheba cat food but due to it's price I would never purchase it. At 89 cents for one small container it was not in our budget. Later I found a local department store was going out of business and had all the cat food on clearance. At 10 cents a container, I bought all that they had left. My cats were in for a big treat with this sale.

Sheba cat food comes in a small small container with a foil like cover that peels back. This differs from the other brands of cat food on the market today which are in cans that either have a pull tab or a top that you need a can opener to remove. For safety purposes around children I liked this feature of container better for cat food. No more sharp edges from lids for a child to perhaps get into and injure themselves on.
Sheba offers a small variety of select flavors that my cats seemed to enjoy immensely. Each time I pulled a container out they would practically be crawling up me to get to the food. The varieties offered are as follows:
Chicken- Chicken in meaty juices
Turkey- Turkey in meaty juices
Duck- Moist duck in meaty juices
Beef- Hearty beef in meaty juices
Venison-Moist chunks of venison in meaty juices.
Lamb- Chunks of lamb in a meaty broth.
Shrimp and Sardine- a combination of the two served in their natural juices
Crab- Crab in natural juices
Sole- Sole served in natural juices
Halibut and Cod- A combination of the two types of fish in their natural juices-this one is of a pate style
Salmon- Salmon in natural juices
Whitefish and Tuna- Whitefish and tuna in natural juices
The varieties mentioned above are listed with their ingredients in order for me to bring up my next positive point of this cat food. Sheba cat food is made of the main ingredient, some meat-by products and juices, while other brands of cat food add a large amount of meat-by products to their food. The wholesome simple ingredients is much healthier for your cat and their digestive systems.
Whenever I opened a container of Sheba cat food I found the aroma of them to be more pleasant than other cat food brands. No flavor seemed to be over powering to my senses.
I did seem to notice a difference in both of my cats elimination routines when they were consuming Sheba cat food. They seemed to go more frequently and it was easier for them to eliminate the waste products.
The biggest complaint I have about Sheba cat food is the price. This food retails for around 89 cents a container. The container is only 3.5 ounces verses the 5.5 ounce size of other brands.
Although my cats love Sheba and I enjoy giving them food that is better for them, I could not afford to feed them this unless it was on sale. When I found it on sale, I would always buy as much as I could and would alternate feedings to make the special food for them last longer. The quality of the ingredients makes this cat food worth the extra cost, if you can afford to get it. If not, maybe a container or two as a treat for your cats would be very nice.
