Jamie O'Neal will make you Shiver!

Written: Oct 28 '01
Pros:AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME
Cons:NONE
The Bottom Line: Jamie O'Neal's album is so awesome that it will make you Shiver.

First let me start off by saying this is one of my very favorite CD's. I kept hearing this DJ on the radio go on and on about this CD. I knew a couple of songs on there, but that was it. I decided as much as she went on about it there had to be more great stuff on there. I was right. I have listened to this CD over and over. Jamie O'Neal is a beautiful person with a gorgeous voice and a great talent as a writer. This CD offers 13 songs with her as the co-writer on 9 of the songs. That is pretty darn impressive I think.

Jamie O'Neal is from Australia. Over the summer, she toured in a "Girls Night Out" tour with Reba McEntire, Martina McBride and Carolyn Dawn Johnson. I'm sure that was one awesome show. Here are the songs you will find on her CD:

When I Think About Angels (Jamie O'Neal, Roxie Dean, Sonny Tillis)
This song is in memory of Jamie's dogs, Griffin and Dylan. This song is about someone that misses somebody so bad. No matter what they do they always think of them.

There is No Arizona (Jamie O'Neal, Lisa Drew, Shaye Smith)
This is about a guy that promises a better life for his girl in Arizona. She kept waiting for him and he never sent for her. She got a postcard saying he would get in touch with her. Months went by and she never heard from him. She realizes "there is no Arizona".

Where We Belong (Jamie O'Neal, Tim Nichols, Annie Roboff) Guest Vocal: Rodney Good
They are thinking about saying goodbye and calling it history. She just can't see her world without him in it. She wakes up from a dream of life without him and knows there would be no good left. They know if they face their problems together, hold each other and say they are sorry that it will all work out.

No More Protecting My Heart (Tim Nichols, Annie Roboff)
She has been acting like she just didn't care and keeping love at a distance. She's finally letting her guard down and wanting to see what love has to offer her.

She Hasn't Heard It Yet (Jamie O'Neal, Chris Dannemiller)
Her man comes home late, can't eat his dinner and doesn't talk. She pretends nothing is wrong. As she is in bed asleep he leaves his ring and walks out on 18 years. This is a really sad song.

You Rescued Me (Jamie O'Neal, Roxie Dean, Sonny Tillis)
This is about a woman that was rescued by this man just in time. She was always alone and thought she was dreaming when she met him. He is her "angel of mercy and emotional savior."

Shiver (Jamie O'Neal, Lisa Drew, Shaye Smith)
This is about a woman that is so overwhelmed with this man. He comes close and she loses her composure. He smiles and she melts. She shivers and trembles being around him.

The Only Thing Wrong (Richard Marx, Gary Harrison)
She has almost everything she needs-a family that loves her, lots of friends and a great job. Yet she doesn't have arms to hold her at night. It's hard for her to get over this guy.

I'm Still Waiting (Jamie O'Neal, Lisa Drew, Shaye Smith)
When I first heard this song it took my breath. I tried to imagine my life if my husband died and it broke my heart. The first time you hear this song be prepared to cry. It is powerful and moving.

The song starts out with people telling her that she will get over him and she will move on. She keeps waiting for him to come back. They buried him on a Sunday in the rain. She went to his closet, breathed him in and it finally hit home. She just can't get over him.

I'm Not Gonna Do Anything Without You Duet with Mark Wills (Randy VanWarmer, Rich Alves)
She makes him a promise that she is going to hold someone, look them in the eyes and love them more than anybody. But she isn't going to do anything without him. Mark and Jamie sound great together.

Sanctuary (Jamie O'Neal, Daryl Burgess)
She tells him the truth and completely surrenders to him. When the world goes crazy she comes for his embrace. He is the only one that can save her.

Frantic (Jamie O'Neal, Lisa Drew, Shaye Smith)
90 miles an hour, fast shower, black coffee...
She loves it frantic. It is the only speed she knows. This is a fast song.

To Be With You (Keith Stegall, Dan Hill)
There is nothing she would not do to be with him. She would risk a thousand lifetimes, no mountains she wouldn't climb. Everytime she closes her eyes she sees his face; he is her fantasy.

Background vocals: Jamie O'Neal, Rodney Good, Bekka Bramlett, Samantha Murphy, Roxie Dean and Kim Parent

Produced by: Keith Stegall
(I'm Not Going to Do Anything Without You is co-produced with Carson Chamberlain)
