Pros: they come in gold, heel not too high, come in size 11
Cons: tear and mark up REALLY easily, hard to clean
The Bottom Line: Although fabric covering makes these more fragile, these shoes are excellent special occasion shoes- especially for the holidays.

It was a dream come true.
For many years, I have loved clothing that is ornate, and very sophisticated. Unfortunately, my budget barely would afford K-Mart clearance racks, so my penchant for dramatic and exquisite clothing remained unfufilled for a long time.
Despite my years of fashion famine, over the last few years, I have had the blessed opportunity to obtain some very beautiful and exciting clothing at inexpensive prices.
One of these delightful things was a gold full length leather halter dress. I was so excited to have found this amazing dress for a small price.
Finally the day came when the dress arrived in the mail. I was so excited, I could hardly wait to try it on. I put my active toddler to bed and eagerly unzipped the dress and stepped into it.
Living in a rural area, I did not worry about having anyone see me, so I jumped into this dress. With some struggle (I had sprained my wrist previously, making it very difficult to zip up the dress) I managed to finally zip the dress up.
I wandered around my house, posing, pretending, and practicing walking in the dress. I felt like a fairy princess.
At last, my time of fantasy was done, and I decided to escape the rather restricting dress. As I reached around myself to unzip the dress, to my chagrin, I discovered that my painful sprained wrist would not reach the zipper.
I tried everything to unzip this dress. In addition to the difficult position the zipper was in, the zipper itself was caught on the lining. Now I was beginning to panic.
For an hour, I tried to remove the dress with no success. I finally reconciled myself to the fact that I would be stuck in my dress until my son came home from trade school in a few hours.
So, I began to work through the house in my dress, eventually forgetting that I was wearing it.
The doorbell rang, and I shuffled over to the door to answer it, forgetting my predicament. I opened the door to discover the UPS man standing there holding a box for me.
I was a bit puzzled at his expression, but I just shrugged it off as I thanked him, shuffled off to the living room to open the box. When I passed the mirror, I jumped back. The gold was rather startling, and then I recalled the UPS man's expression and began to laugh.
If only I had a pair of gold shoes to wear with the dress, he might have believed that I was going to a special event?......
HOW I FOUND THESE SHOES
That did begin a rather perplexing search. I tried every shoe I had, but nothing looked good with this rather startling dress.
I began to search any store I could find, but no store had any shoe in gold, especially in the size that I needed.
Finally, in desperation, I prayed for a pair of gold shoes in a price I could afford. HAHAHHAA
NO SHOE was that inexpensive.
It was when I gave up that I stumbled upon a shoe at a Penney's store I happened to be walking through. It was a gold shoe from the PM COLLECTION by 9-2-5. They did not have my size, but they did have smaller sizes.
Upon inquiry, I learned that they could call another store and see if they had any of the shoes. The prices seemed nice- about $20, so I told them to go ahead.
After calling 20 stores, the woman finally found a pair in another part of the state. For no extra charge, she had them send my shoes to my home and then charged them on my JC PENNEY'S card.
When I saw the amount come up on the screen, I was shocked. $7, including tax.
THAT was a shoe I could afford! Who says God does not answer our smallest prayer........
WHAT IS THIS SHOE LIKE
This model of shoe is a staple at JC PENNEY stores. I have seen it in another store, but have forgotten which one now.
The shoe came in black, off white, and gold. All of the shoes are made of fabric, including the heel.
The shoe is open back with a heel strap, elasticized. The straps criss cross over the top of the foot, ending at a covered toe- like they chopped the toe off of a pump and attached it to the front of the shoe.
The heel is about 3", but not uncomfortably so. The insole of the shoe is gold with black writing. For the gold shoe, it is excellent, but for the off white shoe, it can be distracting if you are wearing all white.
Due to the excellent price, I purchased an off white pair as well, so I am very familiar with this model of shoe.
It is lined in man made leatherette. The gold pair is softer than the off white pair. Unfortunately, the leatherette does not stretch, so it will cause blisters if worn for dancing, or for long walks.
The heel is a square- about 1 x 1/2 inch in size. It is also covered in fabric.
The sole is rather slick, but will scuff up nicely making it have more traction. The foundational makeup of the shoe is very sturdy, and the heel does not rock when walking on firm surfaces, as many high heels do.
MY RECOMMENDATION
If you have a special occasion to attend, these shoes are an excellent choice. The only price I saw on these shoes was $30. The shoe might be a higher price during holiday season.
The shoe comes in size 11 down to 6. That is an advantage. I also like the pointed toe which is not too narrow as many are.
Because of the man made nature of the shoe, you can not depend on them for constant wear, or for having to spend a long time on your feet. For dancing, they are not overly sturdy and will cause blistering, however, they will work better than a lot of heels.
If you are looking for a shoe to match an outfit you want to wear on a more constant basis, look for another shoe. This shoe is nice, but will slice easily, and the dirt will stick to them.
They are very hard to clean. The gold is easier than the off white. Once you have a slice in the heel, the shoe begins to look shoddy and you will not want to wear them often anymore.
Mud and water- especially salt in the NE US will also seep up on the heels showing a water line.
In short, if you are wearing these for special occasions in rain or winter weather, WEAR BOOTS and change into them. Watch all sharp curbs, or other things that can slice them, and be careful of mud.
With those things in mind, these are great special occasion shoes, available at JC Penney stores (as well as other places) at a reasonable price. The go with a lot of styles of fashion and are rather timeless.
