Cons: sound quality, not able to wall mount, tedious menus screens
The Bottom Line: Sound quality is the most important aspect when investing in a new phone. If you like the design buy it. If you want excellent sound quality search for another product.
What I didn't like about the Siemens 4015 1. I was most disappointed in the sound quality of this 2.4 MHz phone. Siemens reviews usually boast excellent sound quality and clarity.
2.4 MHz phones use the same frequency wireless devices use, which is why there are 5.8 MHz phones on the market now. Wireless devices may cause interference with these phones. I positioned my phone away from other electronics and since I own no wireless devices I thought the sound quality and clarity would be superb.
During any conversation I could hear a constant humming or buzzing. The hissing noise was so obvious I thought my phone connection was bad. I tried several phone calls but the noise was still intrusive. The persons I called seemed very distant, and I was having to concentrate to understand the conversation. I tried several different volumes on the handset but the end result was the same.
2.The phone is not comfortable for long conversations. The Siemens 4015 has an awkward shape and is too thin and rounded to hold comfortably.
3.The menus and function buttons are tedious to manipulate. If you are comfortable with programming a cell phone you will have no problem using the functions of the Siemens models. The function I use most on the phone is the volume. On most other phones I can change the handset volume quickly and easily without looking. In order to change the volume on the Siemens phone I had to pull the phone away from my ear and push two or three menu buttons to lower or raise the volume.
4.There are no menu buttons on the base. All functions are accessed using the phone. Although if there were button on the base it may take away from the sleek attractive design.
What I did like 1.The phone system can be expanded up to 3 phones which eliminates the need for additional phone jacks. Only one phone jack is needed for the entire system.
2.Attractive compact design.
3.Message retrieval can be heard on base and headset, flashing LED light signals new message.
4.Long battery life.
5.Back light display.
