| dougal42's Full Review: Sima SUR-20 LCD Touchscreen Remote Control |
Palm Pilot styled (no buttons), touch-screen,convenient, relatively inexpensive universal remote control. The Sima enables you to control up to 8 devices. Easy to program (once you read instructions)with interchangeable screens for each device. Also, screens can be customized to suit the device you control while allowing you to eliminate unneeded controls for that device on the Sima screen. For example, to program your VCR you need only point the VCR's remote at the Sima, select VCR on it, and program the buttons on the Sima to simulate the VCR ones. You can also input the VCR's code which is supplied in the manual, however it can be customized better by doing it thorugh the VCR's remote. All of your other devices can be completed in the same manner.
One great provision is the macro control which can be programmed to do a number of functions with just the touch of one control on the Sima. For example, (once you program it) with the touch of the macro button & a number button it will turn on the TV, change it to video 1, turn on your Audio/Video receiver, adjust the volume, turn on your satellite dish and go to a specific channel number. With just one Macro set-up ,it actually can do up to 25 functions. Very convenient for those in your house that encounter problems with numerous remotes.
