Pros: Easy to use and durable.
Cons: Kept growing in size. Comfortable, but the "bumpers" got in the way.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend it due to the comfort and the price.

| d_nrhodes's Full Review: Simmons Beautyrest Express Bed |
Over a year ago we realized we needed a new mattress and didn't have the funds to purchase the traditional type mattress. So, we investigated air mattresses and experimented with an inexpensive campers air mattress and slept well. Then we graduated to a higher end air mattress and purchased the queen size Simmons Pillowtop Expressbed ($79.95 from Walmart). The pillowtop has "bumpers" along all four sides that are higher than the sleeping surface. This bothered my husband, so we flipped it over and slept on the bottom. I embellished the mattress with 2 laters of "egg carton type" foam and a good quality mattress pad. Very comfortable. We have slept on this mattress for over a year only occasionally needing to put air in it (it was never deflated for the entire time). The only problem is it kept "growing" over time. We have a box platform (not mattress springs) and gradually the mattress was hanging over on 3 sides. Even thought it was a queen size, it grew so much I had to upgrade to king size mattress pad and sheets (not a tight fit, but the queen size bedding was too small). Last week I bought a new air mattress with a built in foam-conforming top from Sofina called an Iso Comfort Bed ($59.95 from Sam's Club). So far, so good. Using air mattresses is MUCH less expensive than the traditional mattresses and just as comfortable. I highly recommend them!
