Snore…snore…uh…huh? Oh, you woke me up from a restful nap. This is something that has been hard to come by for a long time. Well, I suppose that I can share with you the reason for my peaceful slumber.
Simmons Beauty Rest Mattress, albeit an expensive purchase, it is a purchase that is well worth it. We purchased the mighty king sized mattress about a year and a half ago, around June 1999, when our waterbed decided it's life was over. It’s the best purchase that we could have made. I suffer from sleep apnea, and sleeping on the waterbed that we had previously didn’t help one bit!
The Simmons Beauty Rest has been terrific. When looking for a mattress, here are a few things that you should look for:
1) Coil count The higher the count, the better the comfort and the longer the mattress will last!
2) Comfort If you have a partner, take them with you on your shopping trips. You will both want to lay down, feel the mattress, see if it’s the right size, too high, too low, too firm, etc.
3) Matching box springs You should purchase a matching box spring for the mattress, as they are built to “go together” for best results.
4) Get informed Take literature, read up on the products that you like best, research, research, research.
5) Purchase from licensed dealers You never know what kind of imposter you might pick up that isn’t anything like you want, or pay for!
6) Check the warranty This can be a lifesaver if you have any problems down the line.
The mattress that we have is called, Silk Sensations by Beauty Rest. It has a terrific coil count! The higher the coil counts, the better the mattress. The experts, if you look for guidelines like the “cylinders in an automobile” would say you should have over 300 coil count for doubles and fulls, over 375 for queens, and over 450 for king sized mattresses. I personally have heard that you want to be closer to 1000 for king sized, just to give you a longer mattress life. I mean, you put a lot of money into one of these mattresses, you want it to last as long as possible!
The Beauty Rest has roughly 1408 coils. What an impressive amount of coils. Simmons also uses, what they call, a two story pocketed coils which they claim is the feature that makes their mattresses tops! They say that this construction helps people choose a better sleeping “environment” than any other mattress can. You can even make the choice that much better by choosing the type of “top” offered. You have pillow top, firm, plush, ultra-plush, and pillow top plush.
Another thing to consider, if you have a partner sleeping along side you, average people may turn around 40 plus times a night, and you don’t want to be disturbed, do you? That’s why Simmons Beauty Rest is so wonderful. The mattresses they produce are the best. (Remember the advertisement where bowling pins are on a mattress and someone above throws a bowling ball down on the mattress to see if any of the pins fall? This is the mattress maker that creates that mattress!)
History
Simmons has been making mattresses for a very long time, roughly 75 years. And, they have only been making the queen and king sized mattresses for about 40 years. So, either way you look at it, they are one of the best manufacturers out there, and they have the background to back them up. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been around this long!
If you are looking for quality for the price, this is the way to go!
