I envy the people who have been happy with the same mattress for the last 10 years. My parents are like that. I on the other hand have gone through 4 mattresses in the last 3 years. The Simmons Beautyrest World Class Mattress with memory foam Pillowtop is like sleeping on a cloud. After years of suffering and bad mattress luck I am finally having sweet dreams.

My husband and I both have horrible backs. We are also in a different weight range so we often have the problem of me rolling down the mattress mountain into his valley. The first mattress we had was his ancient mattress from his first marriage...(YUCK). We got rid of that immediately and not just because the springs jabbed into me. We then bought a no name brand mattress out of a newspaper since we were low on money back then. Big Mistake! I had to hang on to the edge of my side to keep from rolling on to my husband. My husband didn't mind but my back rebelled. We then bought a super firm Simmons Beautyrest Caprice. No pillowtop, no frills and it was like sleeping on a board. We slept on this mattress for over a year. My back problems became chronic and I began having migraines daily. Both my husband and I began to dread going to bed because we knew the pain we would wake up in. I knew it was the mattress but my husband refused to spend anymore money on a bed. So we spent hundreds of dollars on mattress toppers to make a bad bed better. Featherbed, memory foam toppers, egg crate toppers....we piled them all on. Nothing worked. Finally I talked the hubby into looking for a new mattress.

We couldn't decide between a Temper-Pedic foam mattress or a Sleep-By-Number bed. We spent days trying to decide. My husband thought the foam mattress was weird and super-expensive and I thought the Sleep-By-Number bed looked cheap and gimmicky. My husband just liked it because it had a remote control. I liked the foam mattress because I felt supported but I was worried because I had heard that it was a hot unbreathable bed. We could not afford another mistake and we argued about which bed we should get. I was about ready to buy 2 twin mattresses and sleep like Ricky and Lucy Ricardo from I Love Lucy. Personally I think they had it made.

Exhausted we walked into another mattress store. I told the salesman what our problems were and what we needed. He smiled and led us over to a beautiful bed. It was the Simmons Beautyrest World Class Mattress. He explained that it had the best of both worlds. It was actually a FOAM mattress but didn't have the downfalls of the Temper-Pedic. It looks just like a real mattress but it isn't. The mattress has 3 sections. The bottom is spring coils for support. The middle 12 inches is a dense foam and the top is 3 inches of memory foam. It is a very tall bed. Just the mattress is 24 inches. The fabric was a very luxurious and soft cotton. When my husband and I layed in it....It was wonderful. I felt supported and I didn't roll into my husband. It had enough softness so that my shoulder and hip sunk into mattress while on my side; leaving my spine completely straight. On other mattresses, my shoulder had no other place to go but crunched under my neck which twisted my spine all out of whack. The salesman explained that it is a common mistake to buy a superfirm mattress for a bad back.

We have had our mattress now for 3 months and we love it. When it was delivered, I couldn't believe the height of it in my 4 poster bedframe. It was above my hip and we had to get a stool for my to climb into bed. I'll probably break something if I ever fall out of it but until that happens I will continue to have the most perfect sleep I've ever had.
