puffy17's Full Review: Cardinal Industries Simpsons Trivia II Board Game
So you think you know your Simpsons, do you?
Welcome to Simpsons Trivia!!
My hubby and I had been wanting this game for months, and when we had a little pocket change to burn, we snatched it up!
After glossing over the instructions, and scratching our heads like a couple of goons, we dived in.
Simpsons Trivia comes in a large tin, but inside you'll find only a mediocre size deck of cards and a single die.
The cards split into one group of questionairres and a very tiny group of character (Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie cards) questionairres...okay...easy enough...
(Note there is also a quote sheet and a large character poster that is used for the game as well)
I felt a slight twinge of disappointment that there were not as many cards as I had anticipated in such a large container but once we got the game started I found you needn't worry about numbers.
Each card has 5 levels of questions. Before starting the game players decide which level they wish to play. One being the easiest and five the hardest.
My husband and I started on one, decided than to go to two, and wallowed in a miserable third that had questions that miffed both of us.
We haven't dared the fourth or fifth level.
We have derived you need more than two players to get the full monty, but it's still enjoyable.
Picking a level, players read off trivia. Questions range from the obvious to the teeniest, tiniest of facts on the Simpsons world.
Questions can be, for example, What's Homer's favorite beverage? To What was on the Tv when Homer was doing this...?
The object is to get three trivia questions right, thus collecting those 3 cards. Once you have three cards you can take a stab at the character cards.
You want to get all 5 character cards to win!
We have watched Simpsons since its inception, and thought we were know-it-alls. But amazingly, the trivia can be extremely difficult. Going so far as to be confusing. Considering how off-the-wall Simpsons can be, a lot of times you figure the answer has to be off-the-wall, when in fact, it isn't!!
I highly recommend this game to Simpsons loyalists, and especially to die-hard fans who never miss anything of the cartoon!
