Pros: Easy to set up, ignite, and move to any location
Cons: Design flaw in trapping mosquitoes destroys product's potential.
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your money like me. This has been a costly experience and accomplished nothing but wasting propane.

| katway's Full Review: SkeeterVac |
I bought the skeeter vac when it first came out over a year ago. I was hoping to at least catch some of the many mosquitoes in my yard. I have followed all instructions. the machine ignites without a problem and I can position it anywhere for best results. In spite of these good qualities, every time I look in the sketervac's net I only have about 3 to 4 skeeters in a 3 week period. The spider webs in my yard have done a better job and don't cost me 16 dollars every three weeks on a propane refill.
The problem with this product is in its design. It can potentially attract the mosquitoes but doesn't make it easy for them to fly into and get drawn into the net. The top of the skeetervac contains vents for the hot propane air laced with octenol, this attracts the mosquitoes. the mosquitoes then have to fly into these vents and toward the octenol to get drawn into the net. The problem is that the mosquitoes have to fly against the air being pushed out of the skeetervac before they will get drawn in by a fan internally. Well, not so surprisingly, mosquitoes don't like to fly AGAINST the direction of the fan/vents initially in order to reach the inside of the skeetervac to get drawn into the net. Personally, I can't imagine how an engineer could have conceived of such a flawed design.
I have kept the skeetervac running in hopes that I will get a return on my investment, but, so far, I really wish I could return it and get my money back.
