Pros: Kills lots of mosquitos around here. No electricity required.
Cons: High maintenance item.
The Bottom Line: Based on our 3 days of usage, I highly recommend the SV-2000 because of the large amount of mosquitos it has trapped so far.

My wife talked me into buying this at Sam's club 3 days ago. Price was $281. I was very skeptical but had read a very positive review of it elsewhere. We live on a 1 acre lot in SW Ohio. Quite a few trees in the back yard bordered by a creek in the back. Mosquitos have been terrible this year, even up on our patio. I set this thing up in the late afternoon about 30 ft. down from the patio and next day when I went out to check I was happy to see at least 100 - 200 stuck to the tack strip and at least that many more in the net! Next 2 nights have been comparable to the first. Not as many more on the tack strip but the emptied net has been loaded each day.
Certainly appears to be working as advertised. I guess the real test will be this weekend when we stay out late on the patio again. Hopefully no bites! (But they do say it could take up to 6 weeks for a significant reduction)
On the down side, it requires requires substantial maintenance. 20# cylinder needs recharging every 2 weeks along with new tack strip ($10). New bait cartridge every 60 days.(not sure how much these are)
I don't understand why other reviewers here are having a bad experience with this unit but I can guess: 1)It can be tricky to light if you don't follow instructions closely. In other words, is the damn thing even turned on? (You should see the LED's blinking and feel the fan running) Either way it's inaudible. 2)Have you peeled the foil seal from the Insect lure before inserting? 3) Try adjusting the fine tune ring to fit your environment.
