Pros: It really does work. We have major infestation and can see a difference.
Cons: It is expensive to buy and will be expensive to maintain, but worth it.
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you have bad mosquitoes and want to go outside without being attacked.

We bought the SceeterVac at Sam's Club for $283.00. You also have to buy a $40 propane tank if you don't have an empty one sitting around to have refilled. We turned it on around 10:00 p.m. last night and by 6:30 this morning we had caught probably 200 mosquitoes. We have found we live in a highly infested area with mosquitoes in Kansas City, Missouri. We couldn't even walk from our house to our detached garage without getting bit at least two-three times. Our child couldn't even play outside without being swarmed - we were using "Off" and the Skin-So-Soft bug repellent from Avon. They just bit right through it.
Anyway, we had to do something and spending the $350 for the whole thing was totally worth it. I went outside this morning and watered my flowers and didn't get bit once. We also felt that even if we caught only a few of the female ones it would save about 2,500 eggs from each hatching in the future. That is what the advertising said and we can see how that is true. It also said that results would take about 3-4 weeks. After 8 hours we had results.
We figure that it will basically cost us $1.50 a day to run this thing. That is taking into consideration that you must refill that tank every 14-16 days and replace the sticky trap and lure.
Basically, I would recommend this product. We are going to gain the ability to go outdoors during the hot mosquito season and have people over without being invaded! I also bought Mosquito Barrier. I sprayed it once and didn't feel it helped at all. My mom used it and says it did -- she didn't have but one or two in her yard, I think! :) I am going to try it again and mix it stronger and hopefully that with our SkeeterVac will make outdoor life great.
