I had the Skier's Edge III on a 90 day trial, and was happy that I had the option to send it back. Bottom line, I was completely unimpressed with the work out. I was hoping to condition and slim my thighs, and get a cardio workout. After 30 minutes, my husband or I were not breathing any differently than a brisk walk.

To give you some background, my husband does not exercise, although he is slim and active. I am a jogger, and I cross-train with rope jumping and a $99 Sears stepper. We ski one week a year, and I am always amazed by the slimming and toning of my legs and thighs in one weeks time. HOWEVER, to be fair I do have to say that we SKI. We are the first up on the lift in the mornings, and we usually are the one of the last ones down in the evenings.

I did not find the Skier's Edge to be at all what I would call a workout, that is the bottom line. Especially after paying $850! It is a well made machine, but if dust or particulate matter from your shoes gets on the tracks, then on the wheels, it becomes noisy. We had to constantly clean the wheels and track (round bars mind you) to keep it from squeaking.

I really cannot recommend purchasing this piece of equipment - my feeing is you will become quite bored and unsatisfied with it very quickly. Buy a $15.00 jump rope and take your dog for a brisk walk.
