I used to use Serious Skin Care's C line years ago and liked it. I bought a kit of SSC's products a while back to try them again and this treatment was one of the products in the kit. It's a decent cream for me but I haven't seen any changes in my eye area and I really didn't expect to. This isn't a treatment, it's a day cream.

Packaging

The product underwent a packaging overhaul recently but some kits that are sold still have the old bottles in them. I actually prefer the simple clear pump containers with orange labels and clear lids (pictured above) to the new packaging which is a .5 ounce white bottle with an orange lid. It still has a pump top but now, you can't see how much product is left in the jar. The treatment is quite thin and is not greasy. It is a light creamy yellow color and has a slight scent of orange.  

My Experience

I like rich eye creams but I also want ones that I can use during the day under makeup that won't look greasy and won't smear my cosmetics. I used this line years ago and liked it well enough but obviously not well enough to stick with it. I bought a kit of their products a few months ago on a whim and this eye treatment was included.

 Serious Skincare C Eye Vitamin C Ester Eye Beauty Treatment uses a load of fruit extracts and other botanicals to try to fight off the look of aging eyes. These fruit extracts, along with Vitamin C, are great antioxidants and can help fight free radical damage. However, there are more advanced ingredients on the market that attack fine lines and smooth skin that this one doesn't contain.

Anyway, the small bottle has changed since I last used it to a white and orange one. Now, I can't see how much product is in the bottle whereas before, I could see through the clear bottle and know exactly what was inside. I don't like the new packaging for that reason.

The pump top is essentially the same with a flat area to push down and a small opening for the lotion to come out of. The problem remains though that one pump can be too much or maybe not quite enough and you can waste product because you can't do a half of a pump. You can try but generally, the lotion squirts out a full pump of product no matter what.

The scent is slightly or oranges and pleasant. It isn't too overwhelming so my eyes don't water when I use it.

The white lotion is thin and not greasy at all. I dot it around and under my eyes and it seems to be gone in seconds. I do have mature, dry skin so it needs a lot of hydration. 

Serious Skincare C Eye Vitamin C Ester Eye Beauty Treatment gives me some hydration but certainly not enough for a night cream. It's fine for a day cream though.

The theory is that using this treatment not only provides immediate results as far as hydration and smoothing of fine lines but long term results of more youthful skin, fewer lines and crow's feet, and shallower wrinkles. I knew from the start that it couldn't do any of that. No over the counter cream can TRULY  take away what nature and life has etched into our skin. However, Vitamin C is a good antioxidant and can give skin a nice glow and hydration is key to keeping eyes looking youthful.

I use one pump for both eyes. If I have a little left over, I will apply it on my upper lip area since the skin there is almost exactly like the skin around the eyes.

This treatment doesn't sting or burn and does provide hydration. It smooths the skin and I can apply cosmetics without them running or smearing because the treatment absorbs so well.

However, other than the immediate results I get, I have never seen any visible change in the look of my eye area. My fine lines remain, my crow's feet are the same, my eye area is not brighter nor is it more youthful looking. This treatment certainly doesn't hurt my skin and maybe the antioxidants are warding off future lines but I just don't see any changes as promised.

It does have a ton of botanicals in it which are supposed to be good for the skin so I haven't written it off. I use it during the day on and off. I have so many different eye creams and this is not one that I favor although, again, there is nothing inherently wrong with it. It's just a thin, pleasant smelling cream that absorbs well and adds some hydration.

That's a LONG list but the fruit extracts and the Hyaluronic Acid are stand outs. Some of the other ingredients like Dimethicone give the appearance of actually doing something for the skin but really are only very temporary fixes. Silicone and other ingredients feel good on the skin but wash away without doing anything else.

Conclusion

I used to really like this lotion years ago but I am not that enamored with it today. It isn't that it changed, I did. I got older and discovered other creams that do more for my skin than this one. Having said that, there are some very good antioxidants in this cream along with ingredients to hydrate and smooth the skin, if only temporarily. If you use it just as a day or night cream and don't expect any lasting results like reduction of wrinkles, I think you'll like it. If you expect more, you'll be disappointed. I  going with 3 stars based just on my experience but do recommend that you try it and see if it does more for you than it does for me.
