Pros: strong exfoliation, wonderful fragrance, moisturizing, inexpensive, easy to find
I love to try all kinds of different skin care products but unfortunately the budget has been limited lately so I haven't been able to buy and try many new things. I recently received a basket of goodies as a thank you for being in a wedding and, while I liked everything, I have to say that I was the most excited about finding Tree Hut Coconut Lime Shea Sugar Body Scrub and the partner body butter in there.
About This Product
Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub is sold in an 18 ounce clear plastic jar. I have the coconut lime version but it is also available in 8 different fragrances, including almond & honey, lavender & chamomile, and tropical mango. The ingredients list sugar, gylcerin, lime extract, coconut extract, and shea butter as the primary components but I also see things like safflower seed oil, evening primrose oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, macadamia seed oil, orange oil, and coconut shell powder. This product is not tested on animals.
As I said, I received this sugar scrub as a gift, so I don't know what was paid for it. A quick internet search shows that it is available for $6-$7 on many different sites and also in stores like Costco, Target, and Walmart.
I don't work during the summer so I spend most of my time at the beach or hanging out by the pool. I'm rocking a great tan but my skin is dry and even peeling in some spots. I was desperately in need of an exfoliating body scrub, so this Tree Hut Coconut Lime Body Scrub arrived in my hot little hands at just the right moment. I used it the day of the wedding to make sure that my skin didn't look ashy. I even asked my husband to use it on my upper back (which I can't reach) to get rid of the flaky, peeling skin. I've used it couple more times since then and I have to say that I really love this stuff!
First of all, the coconut lime fragrance is amazing. Talk about aromatherapy! One whiff of this stuff and my mind immediately goes straight to my favorite tropical vacation location. I actually have even found myself smiling in the shower when I've opened up the jar of this stuff.
This scrub has impressed me with the strength of the exfoliating bits. I like my scrubs to be really strong and "scrubby", but I find very few of them to actually be so. This product is powerful when it comes to exfoliating skin and has done an excellent job of removing the old and dry layers of my skin. I wouldn't object if Tree Hut wanted to make it even a bit stronger and "scrubbier", but I do really like it as is.
When I am finished using this scrub and with my shower, my skin is soft, smooth, and covered in a light sheen of hydrating oils. You don't need to follow up with lotion or a body butter unless you want to. I don't because my skin is soft, smooth, fragrant, and moisturized already.
Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub has really impressed me both with the wonderful scent and the powerful exfoliating properties. It also is very reasonably priced at just $7 per jar. I will definitely be buying this stuff again and also plan to try some of the company's other versions of their sugar scrub. Highly recommended!
