legotech's Full Review: Laura Antoniou - The Slave
The Slave is the second book in The Marketplace series by Laura Anoniou. This one follows the intense training of a single slave to prepare her for sale in the international slave Marketplace. The premise here is that The Marketplace is an organization as old as time, international in scope and dealing in the consensual sale of human beings into voluntary slavery. Its not just a sexual slavery and in fact some owners don't even expect to use their slaves in that way. It is a dedication to the service of an owner which sometimes includes sex.
In this we follow Robin as she is trained by the series' central character Chris Parker. Chris agrees to take Robin from novice to the auction block in an unheard of two weeks....most novice classes run 6 or more.
Chris teaches Robin how to move, speak, stand, sit. She cleans the apartment time and again, she talks of her experiences and she learns about the Marketplace and what is expected. She learns that the money she garners at auction will be placed into a trust fund for when her service is complete. She learns that slaves actually have fun in their lives as they serve.
This book is a must read for anyone interested in learning more about the BDSM lifestyle, Laura Antoniou has built an amazing world that makes sense, so much so that you can almost feel that its real. The characters are deep and detailed and consistent from book to book, in each book we learn a little more about Chris and even some details that are tossed out in one book are explained in another. What's really cool is that in this book there is a piece from Robins point of view and in the next, the same event is covered from Chris'.
If you are looking for something to read while you get off, this will do nicely, but I hope you'll allow yourself to be enter her world where intelligence, honest, courage and courtesy are still important. Where our lifestyle isn't just about sex but about true submission to service. The sort of submission where simple praise from an owner is the greatest reward a slave can be given aside from the right to wear their owners collar.
