| Marciano11's Full Review: Slazenger 420t Tour Calibre Golf Balls |
I have never really played a Slazenger ball in any of my rounds until this year at a tournament in Lemoyne, NY. My coach handed me three balls and said, "you should play with a man's ball." I looked back at him kind of stupified, but nevertheless, I used them. The result, my best round in tournament play since the beginning of my collegiate golf career.
The Slazenger ball isn't as long as some of the other balls that are available, but who really needs distance? The point of golf is not to whack it off the tee as far as you can and or to brag when you are hitting a wedge into a green instead of a 8 or 7 iron. In golf, we all need control and I don't care who you are. 10 yards on any shot is not going to make you a better golfer so don't listen to the stupid ads on television. I use to be a die hard fan of the Titleist DT wound ball, but now I think I may switch. Personally, I only lost 5 yards off the tee with this ball, but the control, feel and response of my iron shots with it will make me incur a permanent switch.
I believe that the Slazenger ball is probably one of the best balls on the market, and like my coach said, "its a man's ball."
