Had a particularly bad service experience? Please contribute to my academic research! (Reply to this comment)
by mbsresearcher
Dear Reviewer,
Please take this chance to help making the world a little bit better for service customers everywhere!
To explain: I am studying for a Master of Science in Marketing degree at Manchester Business School (UK) and currently working on my dissertation.
I am writing about customer Internet reviews as a result of particularly bad service (not product!) experiences, e.g. during airline travel, hotel stays, car repair, etc.
I am looking to interview at least 15 respondents who are willing to talk to me about these experiences, ideally via Internet chat (you choose the medium, AOL/Windows messenger, Skype etc.). Standard email would be okay, too.
Based on the analysis of the 15 interviews, advice will be given to companies on how to improve customer service. Therefore, by contributing to my research YOU can help make the world a little bit better for service customers everywhere!
The interviews would take no more than 1 hour, and very likely less than that. We could arrange and/or split sessions at your convenience.
Needless to say, all information provided by you would be treated confidentially. To prove my claims I will gladly provide you with the contact details of my academic supervisor as well as a reference letter from my school.
As an added incentive for you to participate, I will do a raffle among the respondents. You will have the chance to win a 50 USD Amazon gift certificate!
Please contact me at your earliest convenience at morian@gmx.net for further details and please include a link to your review in your response.
Many thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Marc Morian

I Had To Read ... (Reply to this comment)

the part about sleeping in the basement outloud to Mrs. royalcrowncola...we were both laughing! And here I thought we were the only ones to have these kinds of experiences!
We call this kind of place an "already-but-not-yet" hotel. Already open for business not yet ready for customers.
