What am I doing with ULTRA SLIM FAST in my refrigerator? That is an excellent question…one that I ask myself when I glance down to the bottom shelf and see approximately 8 cans of the Ultra Slim Fast in the FRENCH VANILLA flavor. These cans have been sitting in my refrigerator for nearly a year now.
At one point in time I thought that this ingenious product would be the answer to shedding a few pounds here and there. I was way off base. I honestly wonder what was I thinking? Is there any product in the weight loss industry that can be dubbed as a miracle and easy way to lose weight? If so then let me know:-)
I can’t tell you how long the Slim Fast Foods Company has been around but it has been around as long as I can remember. I actually remember my Granny doing the Slim Fast shakes once upon a time. As a child I was quite fascinated with the free bonus shaker cup that was provided to mix your shakes. That was back in the day when the only form of this product was the powder form.
Things have totally changed for the Slim Fast product line. The consumers have a wide variety of products to choose from that attempt to help in their weight loss quest.

Granted the ready to drink shakes are packed full of vitamins and nutrients. BUT, in one of these shakes alone has a whopping 40 grams of Carbohydrates. This is not good if you are like me and are trying to watch your intake of carbohydrates. I do have to say that the Slim Fast products that I have tried (the French Vanilla and the Strawberries ‘N Cream) surpassed my expectations in the taste department. They are actually quite tasty and do not taste chalky to me. I have heard several of my friends claim they taste horrible and chalky but it was not my experience.
I personally think these shakes are not worth the money. Granted it is only a few dollars, but why throw your money away on something that does not work? In my personal experience when I was drinking the shakes I became irritable, hungry after a few hours of consumption, and didn’t lose but a few pounds. I also experienced a dry mouth after drinking one of the shakes. I then immediately consumed a huge glass of water to satisfy my thirst. Maybe I was just an odd case and experienced some of these side effects, as I would classify them.
So as the story goes I couldn't stick to this terrible product line. Why would I want to subject myself to being irritable and hungry all the time? It didn't take me long to figure out that this product line was not for me.
The only thing I can say good about the shakes is that they taste good. Other than that I wouldn’t waste my time or my money on anything in this product line.
