| clouseau2's Full Review: Slim Line Shower Filter with Showerhead |
There are an amazing number of shower heads you can choose from. You can buy shower heads with 20 settings, you can spend thousands, but do you really need all of these features?
This unit is not fancy but it does have the two settings I need AND it softens your water.
I have pretty hard water where I live and it used to be that when I stepped out of the shower my skin would itch right away, especially my back. This shower head has a filter in it that softens the water and my skin no longer itches. You have to replace the filter every 6 months, they cost about ten bucks.
The unit gives good pressure and it has two settings. A gentle stream which I use all the time, and which has good pressure (probably even more if you take the limiter out but I haven't had to do that the standard setting is plenty powerful), and the "ginsu beam" "massage" setting which is useful for ... Um how to put this delicately .. cleaning orifices :)
That's pretty much the only settings I need in a shower head and both are great on this product.
As far as I know the only way to purchase this is online mail order from Home Depot.
UPDATE So now I've had the unit for over a year, and one problem has emerged: hairline cracks in the plastic body are slowly getting larger. It doesn't seem to be an issue and it's only leaking a little bit but eventually it will totally fall apart.
