Cons: Lacks fiber, not many pieces of beef.
The Bottom Line: Decent flavor, decent ingredients, but could use more beef and put some fiber in the dish!

| Magick1's Full Review: Smart Ones Fruit Inspirations Pineapple Beef Teriy... |
Weight Watchers® Smart Ones® are trying new items in their Fruit Inspirations selections. This is a new items and I was eager to try it, as others that I have had were quite delicious! This meal is another quick fix item that takes 3 4 minutes in the microwave! You cannot beat that if you are pressed for time! (Conventional oven preparation does take longer 35 minutes on 350 degrees.)
The Product
The product has a 6 point values on the Weight Watchers® points system, if you are looking for this information! It has tender beef strips, juicy pineapple and rice with peppers and carrots. The flavor is very lightly teriyaki and has a sweet pepper bite with the sweetness of pineapple to squash the burning sensation of the peppers!
Mind you, this is not a HOT dish, but it is spicy. They have red and green peppers in this meal and the seasoning for the teriyaki flavoring. The peppers are a very nice, strongly flavored batch of peppers which provided a nice little kick in the meal. The teriyaki, from my previous teriyaki dishes from the Smart Ones® line did not seem to have a kick, only a sweet, slightly sour flavor. But, this dish does have a bit of a flavor kick in your teeth! I loved it!
The pineapple inside the meal was juicy, but it reminded me of grilled pineapple. They have (obviously,) the cooked texture of pineapple with the super sweet juicy flavor, rather than a crisp, fresh consistency that you would find if you cut a pineapple fresh and ate it. (Some of the dishes that I have tried from the Smart Ones® meals seem to have the fresh tender crisp (vegetable) consistency and I was thinking possibly the pineapple would be that way too, but it was not.)
There was plenty of rice available in this meal. But, the beef strips seemed small and lacking. (I like steak and beef a lot, so this was a drawback for me). But, the pineapple pieces were very nice in quantity and they were not large pieces. The pineapple pieces were about the same size you would get if you purchased a pre-cut can of pineapple pieces from the store, roughly about 1 inch long and ¼ to ½ in wide.

Overall Impressions
I enjoyed the flavor of this meal quite a bit. It had a decent little punch from the peppers and a sweetness from the pineapple that was genuinely delightful. The small teriyaki kick along with flavors mentioned just prior, all complimented each other very well.
I know that I would prefer more beef strips in the meal and I would enjoy having a mix of wild rice and the white rice to make it better in the fiber count! This dish had NO fiber and that was disappointing, considering how much they claim we all need more fiber in our diets.
I am still out as to whether or not I will purchase this dish again. I am not afraid of it, but I just prefer to have fiber, flavor, and variety. If it comes down to where I am getting bored rotating through all of the other great flavors I enjoy, I likely will grab one, but it will be very infrequent. If you enjoy a meal with a little beef, teriyaki flavor, rice and peppers, you will enjoy this dish!
