Very tasty and refreshing malt beverage

Pros: Wonderful taste of green apples, smooth and refreshing, very cool, unique bottle design.
Cons: It tends to give me heart burn, but it's not too bad.
The Bottom Line: It's a very enjoyable and tasty fruit malt beverage that anyone who drinks fruit drinks would enjoy. Especially the apple lovers out there. I highly recommend to try it.

As I've mentioned in previous alcohol beverage reviews, I tend to stick with my usual drinks such as Budweiser and Bud Light. I like a Bud Ice or two at times too. However, it can get boring drinking beer all the time, to me at least, so I like to try different, fruit flavored drinks. Now and days, it seems that the malt beverages are the hot drinks of choice, especially the pool halls and hang outs I go to. These growing variety of drinks also sell very well in the stores. There is always a new flavor coming out, I guess trying to keep up with public and popular demand plus to also keep up with competition.
You have such brands as Bacardi Silver, marketed by Anheuser-Busch, with several flavors of malt beverages that are pretty good I might add. Then, of course, there's Zima with a few kinds, which I'm not too fond of. The one brand I seem to find myself getting into more though is Smirnoff, with their current choice of six flavors starting off with the well known Smirnoff and Smirnoff Triple Black. The other four kinds are of the 'Twisted' flavors such as Raspberry, Green Apple, Cranberry, and Mandarin Orange.
In this case, I'll be reviewing the Twisted Green Apple from Smirnoff. Being that I love a good fruit drink from time to time, I loved the fact that Smirnoff came out with an Apple flavored drink. You see, for a few years back, they used to sell apple flavored wine coolers where I live, but eventually faded. It was a drink I really enjoyed since I like just about anything with green apple. Thanks to Smirnoff, I can have a great tasting beverage with green apple again.
Smirnoff's Twisted Green Apple, to me, is very refreshing and backs it self up with a great taste of green apples. I find it goes down smooth when drinking, but the only thing I'm not too thrilled about is that during and/or after drinking it, it can cause heart burn. It does to me at least. That's the only reason I don't drink it as often as I would like to. Also, I recommend to drink this very cold. You'll get a much better, refreshing taste of it that way.
The alcohol this tasty Smirnoff malt beverage, along with the three other Twisted flavors, consists of 5% by volume in each 12oz. bottle. I would highly recommend not to drink these drinks quickly as the alcohol may hit you a little too fast and these beverages I feel are better off drinking slower, so you can enjoy the great taste it brings.
Pricing and availability aren't too bad. More and more grocery and smaller stores are carrying the Smirnoff Twisted products along with many bars, pool halls, and many other hang outs in my area (New Orleans) selling them as well. At the moment, I can only find them available in six pack, 12oz. bottles that will run anywhere between $6.79 to $8.29 and they can also be found in 22oz. single bottles at smaller stores going from $2.29 to $2.69 each. I did spot one store in Jacksonville, Florida not long ago that had a special 12 pack mixture of the Smirnoff flavors, but that's the only store I came across with that. I would recommend, if you stand the lines, going to Wal-Mart to purchase this since it's at a good, reasonable price there.
The design of the bottle is very unique and cool. It's a clear bottle with the Twisted label sticker going around it with a special sticker on the opposite side that has some info about the drink mentioned. If you look inside the bottle, you'll notice behind the info sticker that there is a picture of green apples. The other flavors come like that as well, with a picture of the fruit it is flavored with. I thought that was pretty cool. It gives a very different and nice look to the bottle. The bottle itself is also made like it was twisted around some. It gives it a much more appealing look I think.
Overall, Smirnoff has done a very good job of capturing the great taste of green apple in this Twisted drink. It's very enjoyable and smooth with a little bite to it at the same time. It may cause heart burn, depends on the person I guess. The price at most stores are decent and reasonable. Availability is pretty good, except for the fact that it's available in 12 packs yet, or at least in my area. I think anyone who likes malt beverages and fruits flavored drinks will definitely enjoy this tasty choice. Of the four flavors of Twisted, I'd have to say that green apple is my favorite, due to the fact that I like green apple as much as I do. I recommend to give it a try and see for yourself. I've got a pretty good felling you won't be disappointed.
