| magcc's Full Review: Smith & Wollensky |
I went to Smith & Wollensky for the first time recently with my husband and his entire family (well, almost). We had a table of ten people. First off, the restaurant was very noisy - it was hard to carry on a conversation except with the person next to me.
But more importantly, the meat was mediocre. Almost everyone at the table had beef of one sort or another. I ordered the T-Bone - which was a nice looking piece of meat, but poorly cooked. It had none of that slightly charred crispiness on the outside; in fact it had a rather steamed mushiness about it. Yuck.
I did enjoy the asparagus we ordered as a side (it was good quality and perfectly cooked), as well as the onion rings. The problem is - this is a STEAKHOUSE - the vegetables are not supposed to be what you remember.
P.S. The waiters were great - funny and efficient.
