In the minds of some, toothpastes might seem too similar to each other to warrant any purchasing discrimination or judgment. There was a time when there was some truth to this statement, but with all of the consumer options available today, there are plenty of differences from one brand to the next and these differences are most evident in the taste. One brand of toothpaste that isn’t as tasty as others is Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste, a minty tooth- cleaning agent.
Basic Facts About This Toothpaste:
Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste is like other Aquafresh products in initial appearance. The paste itself combines regular, white colored paste with colored strands. In this case, the strands are orange in color and when squeezed from the tube, the orange and white colored areas alternate to form a regular pattern. The strands are perpendicular to the tube’s opening, making for a nice appearance when squeezed onto a toothbrush.
Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste is very minty in taste- more peppermint than anything, and similar in taste to certain mouthwash products. This toothpaste includes micro- active foaming action for added cleaning abilities.
Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste is sold in a gray- colored tube with a large cap that is next to impossible to misplace. The paste is sold in several different tube sizes, with 5.6 oz. (158.7 g) being the most popular choice among consumers.
Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste contains Sodium Fluoride (0.15% of Fluoride Ion) as its active ingredient. Other ingredients include Cocamidopropyl Betaine, D&C Red 30, Flavor, Glycerin, Hydrated Silica, PEG-8, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Saccharin, Sorbitol, Synthetic Iron Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Water, and Xanthan Gum.
Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste is one of several products in the Aquafresh line. Aquafresh was best known for pioneering the toothpaste formula that included “stripes” of different colors. The original Aquafresh includes white, green, and red stripes. This variation on the Aquafresh formula offers a combination of orange and white stripes instead.
Toothpastes were often very sharp and strong in taste in the past and the harshness was the main reason I dreaded brushing my teeth as a child. I could not understand why toothpaste manufacturers continued to make toothpaste in basically one flavor: harsh, over-exaggerated mint. Certainly, there were other people who felt the way I did. But there was no change in toothpaste flavors for quite some time.
Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste is one such change in flavor, but this product does not offer as much of a change as other toothpastes. The mint flavor is still present and, to make matters worse, the mint is sharp and strong. This is great for those who love mint flavors, but the harsh flavor will be a huge turnoff to those who prefer the milder mint taste of regular Aquafresh and others
Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste does a good job at cleaning and it is aided by the use of micro- active foaming action. It is easy to see and understand this quality of the product when you brush. In very little time, a large group of tiny bubbles will form that remind me of soap suds. They help to add to the feeling of clean.
Speaking of cleaning ability, this is the most quality of any toothpaste and Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste offers a good deal of cleaning, although not a significant level and there are other toothpastes that are a notch better at cleaning. Teeth do feel cleaner than before, but the promises of Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste predict something much grander. The product doesn’t live up to its promises in the cleaning area and it also doesn’t live up to its expectations in the whitening category. Teeth do not look much whiter at all after brushing with Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste.
I like the large cap on a tube of Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste. It eliminates most of the worry about losing the toothpaste cap and being unable to re- seal the tube. And my favorite quality of Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste is its low price. Excluding generic brands, this is the least expensive brand of fluoride whitening toothpaste. The low price alone makes it worth a try.
Overall, Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste is an acceptable toothpaste that offers a decent level of clean with a rousing taste. It doesn’t whiten teeth as well as it claims and its other qualities are very middle of the road. The harsh taste takes time to get used to, but Aquafresh Extreme Clean Whitening Toothpaste is still a good product and one I recommend trying.
