| bonniesayers's Full Review: Smithkline Beecham Polident Fresh Cleanse Foaming ... |
I was very happy when Fresh Cleanse Foaming Antibacterial Denture Cleanser came on the market a year or so ago. This is specifically designed for use with dentures. It is no longer necessary to use some tablet in a plastic container to get your dentures cleaned. The bottle comes in 4.25 fluid ounces and states it has over fifty uses. I find this statement to be correct since my container usually lasts between two to three months. Sometimes I use it more than once a day.
The recommended dosage for cleaning is two pumps. It does not specify if that is for the upper and lower combined or individually. I use two pumps for the lower portion and occasionally three pumps for the upper dentures.
A regular toothbrush is used with Fresh Cleanse Foaming Antibacterial Denture Cleanser. They even show one on the front of the bottle. So now you can toss out the special denture brush that never fits into the toothbrush holder or container. It is recommended to shake the bottle before each use.
This is a non-abrasive micro-active foam that has a pleasing scent and leaves breath fresh for at least five hours. This also removes stains and kills 99.9% odor-causing bacteria. Directions are quite easy - remove denture, hold it firmly in hand, shake container and pump slowly twice into the denture, brush for ninety seconds and rinse with water.
The Fresh Cleanse Foaming Antibacterial Denture Cleanser is not intended for use on children or in the mouth. I have tried it on my tongue a few times. It is advised to avoid contact with eyes. There are two visuals on the back of the container showing you how to use the foam.
There is an expiration date at the bottom of the container. I recently purchased a new one with the date being 03/10. The cost is about five dollars with fifty cent coupons in the paper recently. The lid is clear and easy to snap onto the container. The label is peeled off the top to open the container, so it is safely sealed upon purchase.
The phone number or Glaxo Smithkline is listed at the bottom of the label - 1-866-843-0232 with the website being www.mydenturecare.com. Back in February of 2008 I got an email about some health scare based on ingredients found in denture products. I immediately went to the container and searched it and the website for a listing of the ingredients.
I placed a call to the toll-free number and the person assisting me known as a Product Specialist could not locate ingredients, but did offer to send me a listing. I had mentioned to her the ingredient that was cause for alarm and she did not see it, but still mailed me the ingredient list. Since this is nowhere to be found I am going to list it here for the general public:
Benzoic Acid, Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyethylene glycol 400, Purified Water, Flavor, Sesame Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Saccharin and Sorbitol Solution.
I am very happy with Fresh Cleanse Foaming Antibacterial Denture Cleanser and find it easy to use with no messy cleanup or preparations. It has an appealing scent and cleans my denture stains. The container states it microcleans without scratching. The foam is white and there is never anything left on the spout, so I just snap the lid on and place it back on the sink. I like that it is portable. Besides dentures this is also used on partials.
