| sbalik1's Full Review: Smooth 5.0P Treadmill |
This is my update to the first review. I am going to keep my first review for the first time readers. It covers some different aspects.
First Review:
I had a budget of less than $1500 and no treadmill experience in the past. I kept reading about the recommendations and product reviews. I found that this product was the most valuable for me fitting in my budget. I was looking for at least 2.5HP continuous, foldable, strong, quality treadmill with long manufacturer warranty. This machine has 10 years of motor warranty.
I have checked many stores, tested many treadmills and compared their prices before I bought my treadmill.
I ended up deciding on the Smooth 5.0P. I ordered it on the phone from treadmillbynet.com on Saturday. I have received my PO on Monday by email. Tuesday 8AM, I received a call from the delivery company stating that they were ready to deliver it. I got it in my house Wednesday afternoon. I was very impressed with this buying experience. I paid $999 including shipment. It does not require any assembly either. All I did just folded up and plug it into my surge protector.
I did not run on it yet but I powered up and walked on it to just check it out. I am going to start testing and feeling it tonight. I was also impressed with the quality of the displays and its quietness. There are two switches one each side of the holding bars, one for the incline and one for the speed. I liked these features a lot too. I cannot wait to go home and use it. I will keep posting my experiences on this treadmill while I am getting to know it better, so standby.
Update:
OK. I used it and loved it. At the top of the display panels there are 4 LCDs for Incline, Time, Dist/Cal, and the Speed. Just under these, there are 3 Preset program groups. Each has P0, P1, and P2 settings. You can custom program P1s and P2s of each program group by using the Mode, Pause and the Program buttons. It was very easy to use till I tried to get out from the programming mode back to manual. It took me some time to figure out. The manual does not explain well either. I tried the speeds 0.6 up to 8 miles. I am 5.10 and 185 pounds. The machines handled it very well. The running space is plenty. I had lots of room in the back and the sides of the moving surface. Plus the side speed and incline switches helps you to adjust these variables very comfortably without having the need to approach to the front panel. After 30 minutes of running, I did not even feel any knee pain (I usually do). In the past I used club treadmills couple times, last night I did not feel the difference. Especially when you compare the high prices of other machines to this $999 (including shipment). I am very happy so far. I hope this review helps others to make their choices. I am not a treadmill expert but I read the reviews of Treadmilldoctor.com, runnersworld.com, consumerresearch.com. If this machines is good for the experts, hey!!! It should be good for me too.
